Peer Mentor Programme
Mentors are paired with up to 5 first-year students or senior year admitted students who will:
- build and contribute to a mentoring relationship with peers by meeting regularly as a small group to discuss and share experience;
- foster student engagement and support peers in adjusting to hostel and/or university life;
- practice active listening and provide referrals to campus resources; and
- organize and participate in mentoring sessions and/or group activities with your mentee(s).
Aims and Objectives
The Peer Mentoring Programme is to help:
- new students adjust to hostel and university life;
- mentors gain leadership skills through helping experience;
- develop a supportive and effective learning community at the University;
- create a caring culture in the campus; and
Mentees
First-year students
Senior Year students
First-year or Senior Year students are assigned a Mentor with up to other 4 first-year students or senior year admitted students in a group who will:
- build a mentoring relationship with your Mentor;
- meet other peers during small group meeting guided by your shared Mentor;;
- gain awareness of resources and support services on campus; and
- communicate directly with Mentor and request one-to-one meetings as needed.
Application
Application will be open from 15 September 2022 to 22 September 2022, on a first come first serve basis.
